Lamar Consolidated ISD is pleased to announce that area voters approved three of the four bond propositions on the district’s 2025 bond. Preliminary election results – which will become official once formally canvassed – show that district residents approved the following propositions totaling $1,958,310,000.
Proposition A: New Schools & Facility Improvements
Proposition C: Technology Equipment Refresh
Proposition D: Student Device Initiative
“We are extremely grateful to the Lamar CISD residents who supported the bond, both by voting for it at the polls and by helping spread the word to friends, neighbors, and their families about the impact of the propositions on our schools and students,” Lamar CISD Superintendent Dr. Roosevelt Nivens said.
He went on to emphasize the importance of the community’s investment in students’ success.
“It's important that every student has access to the facilities, tools, and technology they need to be successful,” Dr. Nivens added, “and it’s important to remember that the decisions we make today lay foundations for the future of both current students and those on their way, as well as for the good of our entire community. The support of our families and communities, together with the amazing leadership of our elected trustees, means everything, and we’re grateful for it as a district.”
Dr. Nivens also noted the district’s continued growth and the responsibility that comes with it.
“Lamar CISD continues to grow at an amazing rate, and with all that growth comes an enormous responsibility to the families whose students have been entrusted to us,” Dr. Nivens said. “We know that much of our growth in recent years is connected to the district’s continued success. Lamar CISD is committed to being an elite school district offering the very best educational opportunities, and we’re grateful to our community for all their support.
The November 4, 2025, bond election was called by a unanimous vote of the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees during a Special Called Meeting on August 12. The bond package, totaling $1.99 billion, was designed primarily to fund new school facilities and facility improvements that address projected enrollment growth within the district.
Lamar CISD has experienced significant growth within the last few years and has been identified as a “hypergrowth” district in recent demographic studies. The district currently serves nearly 49,000 students at 57 campuses. According to the 2025 Q2 demographic report, Lamar CISD had 93 active building subdivisions and 44 future subdivisions with nearly 58,500 lots in various stages of planning, with groundwork underway on approximately 2,500 lots across 15 subdivisions.
